Good Morning!
If your reading this early in the morning I am hopefully out enjoying my long run. Thanks to all your advice I will be taking it mile by mile and listening to good music to help pass the time. Yesterday was quite tiring so I am hoping I have the energy to power through. Before we get the the tough stuff I wanted to talk about my morning workout with Emily.
We went to the gym and completed an upper body and abs circuit workout. My arms were still somewhat sore from Wednesday’s strength workout so the moves were a bit harder today. It still felt good to get in some strength exercises.
After the gym I came home and made a great smoothie! 1/4 cup pineapple Chobani, 1/2 cup frozen mango, 1/2 cup frozen peaches, 1/2 cup frozen spinach, 1/2 cup water and 1 scoop chocolate protein powder. I know its the color of the yard but it was so tasty!
I haven’t blogged about it but the past few days Bentley has been acting kind of off, extra tired, drinking tons of water and having accidents in the house. I took him to the vet today and after some blood work and urine analysis we realized that he has a kidney infection along with the ear infection I have been treating the past few days. He was such a trooper, his vet kept commenting on how calm he was, he is normally a crazy man.
The vet wanted to keep him on IV’s in the office for the weekend but after talking about all my horse experience and comfort level with sick animals we decided he could come home with some strong antibiotics and mild pain pills.
We spent the rest of the day laying on the couch together. I tried to get some school work done, but think I spent more time loving on Bentley than I did looking at school stuff.
I will keep you all updated on the little man. I am hoping he starts feeling better and acting more like himself soon. I am going to be a horrible mom to my future kids if I get this upset when my little fur child is sick.
How do you make your fur children more comfortable when they are sick?

Aww, poor Bentley!!
My doodles and I hope that he feels better ASAP!
Aww no!! I hope your puppers is feeling better soon, and I hope your run went well!
Bentley seems to be feeling some better today, thankful for good medicine!
Aww poor Bentley! I don’t have a dog but I’m thinking about getting one!
I would recommend a dog to anyone who has the time to give them enough attention. Seeing his happy face always makes me feel better on a bad day.
Poor Bentley! I am glad that he got some medicine and hopefully will be feeling better soon
Over Christmas, my dog got sick while we were traveling and I have to find an emergency vet for him. I was seriously up all night checking on him and then broke down in tears at the vet, partly due to exhaustion and partly due to me just being a mess! It is so hard to see them not feeling well. Lots of snuggles usually helps!
I’m glad you were able to find a vet, I was without a doubt the crazy mom crying at the vets. It so hard when they are in pain or not feeling well and you feel so helpless
when animals are sick I get so freaking sad SO SAD I hope he starts to feel better, sending tons of healing vibes his way
I know I feel so bad for him! Thanks for the healing vibes!
My dog was back in the vet a month ago when she had a huge allergic reaction to a chinese dumpling. Ahhhhh it is so scary when your fur children are sick!! I can’t even imagine what it is like when you have a real child. Give him lots of love!
Oh I will be a horrible mom, I was crying at the vet when they were talking about how lucky he is that we caught it early. He will be getting lots and lots of love!
Ah, I hope Bentley feels better! I have such a hard time when Nola is sick! I think the best thing you can do is just give him lots of love. I have no doubt that you are doing a great job of that
Good luck on your long run!!
Yes, he got loved on all day and encouraged me to run my fastest to make it home to see him. He already seems to be feeling a little better today!
Its so hard when they don’t feel good.
